POUCH - Nursing Cradle Carry w/ flip shoulder

Before you use a pouch, make sure it matches your measurement from shoulder to hip! Baby should be happy, dry and fed before you try new carries.

This carry is suitable for newborn to 6 months or whenever they get too big!

One

Pre-fold your sling in half, and put it over your shoulder, leaving your dominant hand free. The sling should have the open edges facing up, creating a 'pouch' for your baby. The curved seam should be at the bottom, between your navel and hip.

Two

Hold baby up on your shoulder with your 'free' arm. Use your other hand to go under the pouch, and carefully 'post' baby inside the sling, feet-first.

Three

Open the pouch and slide baby in with both hands.

Four

Her spine should be mostly in line with the curved seam.  But having her neck and back straight are more important, so if you have to 'skew' her a little to keep her straight, then do it.

Five

Make sure baby's inside arm isn't squashed between you.  See how baby's head is *just* inside the edge of the sling, and she is facing upwards, not in.

Six

Reach over with your free hand, and flip the shoulder.

Finished

All done and ready to go!
